  What a gem of a restaurant with its magnificent alfresco view over the roof tops of all the main attractions in Rome! We had a super Roman Gustation meal on the terrace at the Granet Restaurant & Terrace at the Savoy Hotel in Rome. The food was exquisite and the service warm, friendly and timely! The restaurant is informal but stylish and very few can beat the view. We completely relaxed after our 10 hour journey from Johannesburg and serious touristic activity on the same day. I can honestly say the ambience, food and the attention at this restaurant left me with a warm feeling for the Romans. When in Rome do the Granet Restaurant & Terrace at the Savoy Hotel!

  Perfect place for a perfect view! And the food is superb,so is the waiters! Go here for sunset.

  The best meal of our stay in Rome. There were four of us, and after eating Italian for days, we decided on Chateaubriand. It was perfect. The rooftop/outdoor section provides a nice view of Rome but it started to rain so we ate under the covered section below. There were a couple of thunderstorms that blew through during the meal but that just made it more interesting. Great, great staff. Fantastic martini. Nice cheese plate. Good house wine. If I ever come back to Rome (it's my first trip) I won't stay anywhere else. And I'll make sure I have a least one meal on the roof. It's been a very pleasant 3-day stay and this meal was just the icing on the cake. It's nice to see a place so well run. (P.S. They do close the roof for private events so check ahead of time.)
