I only gave it three because of two things. The pillows and the toilet. I stayed in 117 and maybe this is a typical Venician hotel. But the pillows are 2 inches thick and hard foam. Then the toilet was located so your right knee hits the sink cabinet and that is sitting all the way back. I'm only 5' 8" so I can't imagine anyone taller even using it. They have 8" on the other side if they moved a towel bar and the sink over this would be a lovely bathroom. Just the installers never sat down. The view of the canal and the breakfast were awesome. Just need holders to keep the outside shutters from blowing closed.

Excellent location right on the grand canal and 5 minutes walk to the Rialto bridge. The hotel has that high class shabby feel like many places in Venice. Very clean room, large bathroom and very friendly staff. Recommended.

Fantastic location. The hotel is quite, staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There's a buffet breakfast which is very good, if you like there's a balcony you can use to have breakfast, smoke or take photos which over looks the grand canal - great way to start your morning.

Clean and quite place. Fairy good location, about 10 minutes walk to Realto bridge. The breakfast was basic - eggs, bacon, fruits, pastry. For some reason eggs and bacon were very salty. The view to the Canal is only from suites, all regular rooms are pointing to the near building (about a meter away). The stuff were friendly. I don't think this hotel actually worth 4 stars, I would give it only 3.

Wonderful. I am posting a photo I took from the breakfast room. There are things you need to know that apply to all of Venice, which are relevant for this hotel. Although small, Venice is a maze, you need detailed directions to go anywhere, no matter how close on the map: your mobile phone GPS is useless for the pinpoint accuracy you need. Also, you need to be reasonably fit to enjoy Venice: if you can't handle three flights of stairs, you will hate both Venice and this hotel.
