  The company that operates the bus/tram system treat tourists in a disgusting manner. We were fined €123 for getting on the tram and wanting to buy our tickets from the conductor. The conductor informed us that this is not possible and because we did not have a valid ticket we would have to pay the fine. When we disputed the fact that there was no way to buy the ticket from the stop he that this was not his problem. He then used the police to intimidate us and make us pay the fine not allowing us to go to the ticket office in Venice to seek help. How tourists can be treated like this is disgusting. We have been made to feel very unwelcome in Italy which is such a shame!
