::Today we did the Appian Way bike tour with our fantastic guide Carlo. It was a fantastic day, mostly out of the city, seeing parts of Rome that we would not otherwise have seen. Carlo was passionate and informative and we learnt so much about Ancient Rome, and the city today. It is hard to pick a highlight, but to ride on the 2000yr +cobbles was amazing, as was Caffarella Park and the Aquaduct Park. We are both in our mid fifties, and whilst my husband is a regular bike rider, I rarely ride. This tour is very doable, but I admit that I took an electric bike, which made it so much easier. Thanks you Carlo for an amazing tour. Our best day in Rome.

::Highly recommended! Prices are incredibly reasonable and Marat, the tour guide, is very knowledge in history. Pointed me in the right direction and made sure I don't get lost finding Via Appia Antica. Good bikes, free locks, small fee to keep the bike overnight and enjoy the city in the evening.

::Very accommodating and friendly people. I rented a mountain bike for 2 days, and was impressed by the quality of the bike, which ran flawlessly. It had disc brakes, front suspension, and a higher end Shimano grupo, which was adjusted perfectly and shifted accordingly. The bike was well maintained, too, and a very sturdy lock and a helmet were included in the price. After zipping for 2 days over the challenging cobblestone roads in Rome, I can only highly recommend to spend the extra bucks on a well-working front-suspended bike with sturdy tires. The owner actually made an exception, since he usually only rents out city bikes overnight. I also planned to only rent for 24 hr, but I had so much fun that I called in shortly before my return date and asked for another day extension. The owner was very flexible and friendly, which was much appreciated. The return was very smooth, too. Finally, a word on riding bike in Rome. Communication with drivers by eye contact ensures that one has been noticed noticed. Most of them give you a smile, nod, or wave to signal that they yield to cyclists or pedestrians crossing at zebra stripes. In fact, Romans are very tolerant about a slower bike in a narrow street in front of them. Just establish eye contact...

::Good bike with cool dude at the desk, who gave us advice on where to go, what to see and was really friendly and helpful. We came to return the bike exactly one minute before closing time and he still was friendly and asked us, how was the trip. Excellent service.
