  Lovely clean place with all comforts. The owner of the tenuta was very welcoming and gave us valuable information to help us during our stay. The area surrounding the tenuta is peaceful and tranquil and there were lovely views from the upstairs windows of our apartment. At the same time the tenuta is not to far from the main road thus making it easy to drive to nearby Pisa and Luca. I do recommend this place.

  The hotel has been recently renewed and the rooms are in perfect state. Even though we checked in late in the night, the host was very friendly, and provided suggestions on where to go for dinner in the city center. The location of Tenuta San Giovanni makes you feel like you are in heaven, where you can only hear the wind and the birds singing in the morning.

  Andrea and his family are the perfect hosts at this beautiful and quiet location just outside Lucca. Tenuta San Giovanni is their new venture after having hosted guests at their Belvedere estate for a number of years where they also make the best olive oil you will ever taste. The estate and the rooms have been completely renovated and are large and very comfortable. Perfect for families and couples looking for a quiet location surrounded by fields, meadows and woods, yet only 10 minutes to the gorgeous town of Lucca. The newly-opened swimming pool is large and was a hit not only with our children. Andrea, who grew up in Lucca, knows everything about the history of the city, the best day trips and the best restaurants. You will not find a better tour guide. He is also a producer of olive oil at his farm not far from Tenuta San Giovanni and is always happy to let you sample. Do not forget to ask him about his favourite wine of the region. Lucca and this region of Tuscany cannot be explored in just a few days - there is simply too much to do and see. We were sad that we had to leave after 2 weeks but will be back.
