My train was 1 hour late from Milan. I tried calling the shop 20+ times without them picking up. When I arrived 10 mins late all the staff were on site but refused to answer a simple question about going to the airport to pick up a car. The rudest and unhelpful people I have ever seen in customer service.

I’ve rented in many countries and with pretty much every company there is Monica and Luisa were by far the most accommodating and welcoming people I’ve have ever had anywhere, seriously The location is convenient in dt Florence, just about right to leave for a drive to winery, remember however that this isn’t the airport you’ll be picking up from when you book, reason I am mentioning this, m is because of the availability, the models and amount aren’t as large here, so book ahead and be okay if the advertised model is different, that’s due to Hertz and not the staff Thanks for the great service

Got a ticket for driving within the "Zona a Traffico Limitato", restricted area. Looked up the map of this zone. This Hertz office is in it.

Hertz Florence by the train station was difficult. Garage staff was not very helpful. They tried to assign us a car which did not match what we had reserved and was excessively dented and scratched. Wasted hours. Finally got manager to arrange for a swap at the airport Hertz. Staff there was very helpful. Even they were surprised at the condition of the car the other location tried to stick us with.

Do not rent from Hertz in Italy. We travel abroad and rent cars often and I am very careful to ask where I can drive and where I cannot. We were so careful. (They tell you it's safe leaving the ZTL..they are not honest) 4 months after returning home I am hit with two tickets from driving on a Saturday - and the only "help" they offer after hitting your with a fee of their own is the black hole of an email address. Traveling to Italy next year - will rent from anyone but Hertz...no matter what country. They lost a customer who has been renting in 1981.
